A survey of plant security officers and corporate security managers carried out in 2010 came up with some surprising results. Instead of viewing assault or theft as the biggest threats, respondents felt so as to attacks on information technology posed the greatest threat. The survey results also indicated that the proportion of German security budgets spent on IT security was set to increase by over 81 percent.
